Fencer Andrews takes second British Champion title

Ben Andrews thrilled supporters to secured Gold at the British U23 Fencing Championships in London this weekend. 

The British U23 Fencing Championships will takes place over 4 days at the Leon Paul National Fencing Centre, Hendon with fencers from all three weapons categories competing for British Championship titles.

Ben competed in the Mens Epee and took top podium position after beating fellow GB Teammate and No 1 ranked junior fencer Will East 15-8 in the final.  

This fantastic result is made all the more remarkable as Ben, who already holds the under 20’s British Champion title, is just 17 years of age.  

A significant boost to his national ranking points, the achievement also brings a guaranteed selection for the U23 European and  World Championships in June.

Ben has been selected to fight for GB at World Cups in Serbia and Switzerland this February before heading to Italy for the under 20’s European  Championships in March and the World Championships, Poland,  in April.
