I finish the 2022 season ranked 2nd in Great Britain. Starting the year ranked 126th, I couldn’t have wished for a better way to make my Senior debut. Some personal highlights:
British Champion 2022 (the 3rd youngest in history).
U23 British No1.
Birmingham International Champion 2022.
2x Elite Epee event wins.

Throughout Lockdown, Ben was given elite athlete status to travel to help at training and sparring camps for GB athletes preparing for the Tokyo 202O Olympics.

Ben has been selected for the TEAM GB Paris 2024 Ambition Programme and joined the other selected Athletes, Coaches and Olympians at the London Olympic Part during the Tokyo Olympics.

GB TEAM SELECTION
Second year in the U20 age group saw some amazing performances from a team which is going from strength to strength.
An amazing top 8 finish at the Europeans Championships in Croatia in feb 2020 indicates the direction Bens individual performances are taking.
In the Team event Ben is excelling at pulling back the fight in the closing minutes and the team has produced some incredible and consistent results over the season.

GB TEAM SELECTION
MENS EPEE TEAM (U20)
Ben moved into the under 20’s category in September 2018 and in his first British Championships he won the British Champion Title for the third time.
This remarkable achievement in the first of three years in this age group ensured GB Team selection for the two World Cups in Latvia and Luxembourg.
Strong performances at both World Cups secured Bens selection for the last World Cup of 2018 in Crete where Ben finished 12th out of 235 of the worlds top ranked fencers. A significant boost to Bens international ranking saw Ben selected to individual and Team World Cup tournaments in Serbia and Switzerland.

NATIONAL TEAM SELECTION :

Ben became a Double Commonwealth Medalists at the Cadet and Junior Commonwealth Championships this week in Newcastle Upon Tyne, taking Team Silver days after securing Individual Silver medal.

MENS EPEE TEAM (U17)
Following a successful season of European competitions Ben represented Great Britain at the European Championships in Sochi – Russia and at the World Championships in Verona – Italy.
Bens two highest results on the European Circuit during 2017-2018 were a 5th place in Turkey and as part of the GB Mens Epee Team in Copenhagen where Ben took 6th place.
Apart from the highest placed British Mens Epeeists at the European and World Championships [Junior and Cadet] for a second year, Bens highlight of the year was taking Britains first International Team Medal in the Mens Epee (u17) category [on record] in Austria. Ben then went on to secure a second Bronze Team Medal in Espoo Finland a few weeks later.

MENS EPEE TEAM (U17)
Ben finished the 2016 – 2017 season by representing Great Britain at the Junior and Cadet European Championships in March and the Junior and Cadet World Championship a month later in April.
Highest place British Cadet Epeeist at both Championships Ben finished 19th in the Europeans and a top 16 finish at the Worlds. This followed a run of successful top 32 finished at international competitions in Austria (26th place), France (24th place) and Luxembourg (29th place)
One of the highlights was a top 16 finish in Copenhagen where Ben knocked out the European No I, Italian fencer, Leone Franceco.

Bens debut representing Great Britain was in November 2015 in Copenhagen where he got a top 32 finish in his first international, the second highest GB Cadet in the individual event and was a member of the highest placed British Mixed Team of four fencers finishing 6th over all.

Ben was selected to represent England at the annual Challenge Wratislava Tournament in Poland for three consecutive years, after qualifying at National Leon Paul Junior Series and Elite Epee competition and at the English Youth Championships

ADDITIONAL INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Ben traveled to Poland and Austria to gain international experience. At the age of 14 Ben competed in the Senior World Series Satellite Dublin where he finished 23rd.
